REMAINING USEFUL LIFE OF MOORING AND UMBILICALS FOR OFFSHORE RENEWABLES

RUL-ET focuses on developing new AI-based approaches and building datasets for estimating the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of moorings and umbilicals in offshore renewable technologies.

Its strategic objective is to research the critical elements of the floating renewable energy value chain in the marine environment, aiming to generate knowledge that enables a paradigm shift in determining the lifespan of components. This aims to:

  • Reduce uncertainty in failure prediction and the remaining life of moorings and dynamic cables.
  • Develop more accurate predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Reduce operational costs.
